3D Stereo Viewing - Photo Mapping

image

Viewing vertical (plan view) photography in stereo or 3D is a map maker's tool for creation of topographic maps. Our photographs, flown with 60 to 80% overlap are ideal for this purpose.

Stereo viewing can be valuable:

  • In the study of soil erosion and rock slides as illustrated below located in Hawaii Kai, Oahu, Hawaii.
  • When seeking a secluded boundary corner in a koa forest on the island of Hawaii. (The photo's GPS location can also be added via our Geotagging service.)
  • In the planning or studying of utilities for an Oahu subdivision.
  • When viewing traffic accident scenes. These can be quickly photographed from the air and later laid out graphically for measurements, eliminating the need to stop traffic for this purpose. Normal traffic flow can resume more quickly.

A free complimentary stereoscope, as shown above, will be supplied to our clients with each project.

Stereo photos of streets and intersections are valuable in the study of utilities such as sewer, water and power as well as traffic accident scenes.
